Once porcelain veneers are determined to be the right treatment, our cosmetic dentistry team will create a personalized smile design plan based on your facial features, tooth proportions, bite relationship, and aesthetic goals. We carefully evaluate the shape, size, color, and position of each tooth to ensure your new smile looks natural, balanced, and attractive.

During this phase, we will review your treatment timeline, discuss shade and design preferences, and explain each step of the veneer process. Digital imaging, photographs, and treatment previews may be used to help visualize the expected results before any permanent work begins. Careful planning helps ensure a comfortable treatment experience and predictable, long-lasting cosmetic results.

Once your treatment plan has been finalized, the teeth that will receive veneers are carefully prepared. A thin layer of enamel is removed from the front surface, sides, and biting edge of each tooth. This preparation creates the necessary space for the porcelain veneer while providing a strong bonding surface so the veneer can be securely cemented in place and resist normal chewing forces.

Local anesthesia is typically used during this stage to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. The amount of tooth structure removed is kept as conservative as possible while still allowing the veneers to achieve the desired appearance and fit.

After the preparation is completed, highly accurate impressions or digital scans of your teeth are taken. These records are used by the dental laboratory to custom fabricate your porcelain veneers according to the shape, size, color, and smile design that was selected during the planning process.

Before you leave the office, temporary acrylic veneers are placed over the prepared teeth. These temporary restorations protect the teeth, reduce sensitivity, maintain appearance, and allow you to function normally while your permanent porcelain veneers are being handcrafted. Most patients wear their temporary veneers for approximately one to two weeks before returning for the final placement appointment.

Because many of our patients travel from the United States and Canada, we use an efficient treatment schedule designed to minimize the number of visits while maintaining quality and precision.

After your upper teeth are prepared, detailed impressions are taken and temporary acrylic veneers are fabricated and placed the same day by your dentist. These temporary veneers protect the prepared teeth, reduce sensitivity, and allow you to maintain a natural-looking smile while your permanent veneers are being crafted.

The following day, the lower teeth are prepared and a second set of temporary veneers is placed. During the next several days, our dental laboratory uses the impressions and smile design specifications to create your custom porcelain veneers.

In most cases, the permanent veneers are completed within approximately five days. Once they are ready, you will return for a placement appointment where each veneer is carefully bonded, adjusted, and evaluated for appearance, fit, and bite alignment. We also recommend a final follow-up visit the following day so any minor bite adjustments can be made if necessary. This additional check helps ensure maximum comfort and allows us to fine-tune your new smile before you return home.

Once your custom porcelain veneers have been completed by the dental laboratory, you will return to our office for the final placement appointment. Each veneer is carefully evaluated for fit, shape, color, and overall appearance before being permanently bonded to your teeth.

Your dentist will first remove the temporary veneers and thoroughly clean the prepared teeth. The permanent veneers are then individually tried in to verify their fit and appearance. Once you approve the look of your new smile, each veneer is permanently bonded using advanced dental adhesives and curing techniques designed to create a strong, long-lasting attachment.

After all veneers have been placed, your dentist will carefully check your bite and make any necessary adjustments to ensure proper comfort and function. Because even minor changes in tooth position can affect how your teeth come together, small refinements are a normal part of the process.

We recommend a final follow-up visit the following day so any additional bite adjustments can be made if needed. This allows us to fine-tune your new veneers, eliminate any high spots, and ensure your smile feels as natural and comfortable as it looks before you return home.
